A former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Jumoke Akinjide, has returned N650 million to the Federal Government.

Akinjide informed the court about this development today, when she notified Justice Muslim Sule Hassan of a Federal High Court in Lagos of her plans to reach an out-of-court settlement with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The EFCC had preferred a fraud and money laundering charge against her over the campaign money for the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State received from the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki. Her lawyer, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), told the court that before the start of trial, the party took the decision to return the fund complained of by the prosecution through his client. “The entire money from the charge is the sum of N650 million. Obasanjo can't stop Buhari from seeking a second term,Rochas Okorocha announces plans to erect three more statues

While addressing newsmen in Owerri, Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha announced his intention to erect three more statues. The governor disclosed that the statues placement is part of activities lined up to mark the 42nd anniversary of the state. He listed Chief Sam Mbakwe; Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and Dr. Michael Okpara for special post-humous recognition. The trio, whose statues would be erected, would be bestowed with the highest award of the state. Reacting to the letter written by general Olusegun Obasanjo, the governor said no amount of letters can stop President Muhammadu Buhari from running for President in 2019 if indeed he decides to seek a second term. Nigerians in diaspora have been tasked on the need to change their negative mindset about their country and join hands and resources to help build the Nigeria of everyone’s dream. Former Governor of Anambra Peter Obi, Senators Ben Murray-Bruce and Shaaba Lafiaji, and motivational speaker Fela Durotoye, made the call at the Nigerian-American Business Forum in Florida.
