American rapper turned actor and movie producer,  O’Shea Jackson  popularly known as  Ice Cube  is set to be honored with a star on the revered Hollywood Walk of Fame today. He will speak in front of the  Musicians Institute of Hollywood Boulevard . This star will be the 2,614th since the Walk of Fame was completed in 1961. The ceremony comes on the 25th anniversary of the release of his second album “ Death Certificate “.  The “ Ride Along ” star announced the milestone on his Twitter page saying: Toast to all my Day 1 Riders! Forbes has released its annual list of highest paid celebrities for 2017. From musicians to actors, sports stars and TV hosts, these are the celebrities that made the most money in the 12-month ranking period. Forbes stated  that the 100 celebrities banked a cumulative $5.15 billion pretax during the June 2016 to June 2017 scoring period. Sean “Diddy” Combs , who was on the cover of the first ever publication of the list in 1999, sits atop the list 18 years later after raking in $130m. “The majority of his 2017 total comes from selling one-third of his Sean John clothing line for an estimated $70 million. Combined with a lucrative Diageo Ciroc vodka partnership and his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour,” Forbes said. M.K.O. Abiola The Lagos State Government on Sunday joined  Oyo, Ogun  and  Osun  states to  declare Monday public holiday to mark the June 12 anniversary. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode , in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government,  Tunji Bello ,  said the state remains committed to the ideals of the annulled 1993 Presidential election. The body of former Buffalo Bills wide receiver James Hardy was recovered from a river near his home in Indiana last week. He was just 31 years old. Read the gossip from TMZ below... The 6'6" wide receiver was drafted by the Buffalo Bills after a sensational junior year at Indiana University, USA -- in which he was selected first team All-Big Ten. Hardy's body was found in a log jam at the Maumee River on Wednesday afternoon -- after a City water filtration plant employee spotted him and called police. Our sources tell us it appears James  Hardy had been in the water for several days. Police are investigating. We're told Hardy's family had reported him missing on May 30. Hardy had major issues after his NFL career. He was arrested in 2014 for  attacking police officers  and was later  committed to a mental disorder . However, his friends remember him as a nice, outgoing and generous guy who was an incredible athlete.

 Gunmen abduct Kaduna state House of Assembly member along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road                                                                              Gunmen have abducted a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Isa Salihu who represents Magajin Garin Constituency of the state. According to reports, the 42 year old lawmaker  Isa was abducted with three other persons along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road yesterday June 9th. Details of his kidnap are still sketchy but the state police say they've not been informed about his kidnap. We yet to discover the kidnappers says the state police

A Ghanaian football player in Gävle, Sweden, Kwame Bonsu, has been jailed for assaulting and raping his wife. A Swedish court yesterday sentenced Kwame, who plays in Sweden's second division, to two years in prison for beating and raping his estranged wife. 22-year-old Kwame Bonsu who played for the Gefle IF club, after serving his sentence will also be deported from the Scandinavian country where he has lived since 2013. The court heard that the rape and beatings took place in the couple's apartment during an evening in November 2015 when he had refused to let her out.                                                                                        After the whole scene Bonsu  still repeatedly denied the charges, but testimony from his wife's relatives led the court to believe the victim's version of events. Nigerian movie director , Kunle Afolayan is presently in Paris and needs help. According to him, he rode in an Uber earlier today and forgot a small bag which has his passport, laptop and other valuables things but he's not been able to retrieve them hours later. He took to social media to call for help saying; 'HELP! We rode with this Uber this morning from the airport in @Paris (france) to town and unfortunately forgot a small bag which has My international passport, laptop and other valuables. I have reached out to uber twitter, they responded that I will be contacted shortly a few hours ago but up till now I am still waiting. Kindly help'.
