Chief Olusegun Obasanjo said he has not read the confab report
- He said those calling for secession were motivated by greed
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has reacted to the call for the implementation of the 2014 confab report describing it as a distraction.
Former president, Goodluck Jonathan had called for the implementation saying that it would put an end to the religious violence in the country but NAN reports that Obasanjo said he did not bother to read it.
The report of the conference which took place in 2014 has the hailed to contain the solution to some of the country’s problem with much emphasis on restructuring which is believed will pave the way for better growth for each region.
According to NAN, “The former president, who described such conferences as distractions, said he did not bother to read the report of the last one organised by former President Goodluck Jonathan.”
President Muhammadu Buhari also said the report was in an archive and that he has not touched it yet.
Obasanjo also failed to comment on the issue of restructuring the country describing those calling for the break-up of the country as motivated by greed.
“We Nigerians need ourselves and if anyone thinks he does not need another person, good luck to him.
“What I see in all those groups trying to break away is that they want more of the national cake.”
