The movie was also picked as a Netflix Original movie and was released worldwide on January 4, 2019. However, Afolayan did not disclose the value paid for the acquisition. He added that the company has not announced when the films would be released on the platform.

Reportedly, Afolayan has also partnered with Air France to have Mokalik and his other films on platforms like French premium television channel, Canal+.

The movie also has popular singer Simisola Ogunleye and former Big Brother Naija housemate Tobi Bakre.
