Thanks to Sybil’s mind-meddling
ways, Damon has become her passive
servant. As for Enzo? Not so much.
He still clings to his love for Bonnie
and the hope that they will soon
reunite. Sybil, who isn’t used to
having men resist her wiles and
creepy siren seduction, is annoyed by
his deliberate mental block just like
she was when she found out Damon
longed for Elena.
While the three of them linger around
a hotel suite, she tries to enter Enzo’s
mind once more to find out what this
“Bonnie Bennett” gal means to him
but is unsuccessful. “In three millennia
i have an unblemished record when it
comes to controlling men – 50,000:0,
give or take a few Peloponnesians –
and I’m not about to add to the loss
column just because he doesn’t feel
like submitting,” she brags, looking
pointedly at her reluctant henchman.
Damon responds, “He’s a tough nut to
crack – 70 years in a cage will do that
to you; you’re just building up his
tolerance for torture.” And this
comment gives Sybil an idea (which,
to be honest, considering how ruthless
and murderous she claims to be, she
should have thought of sooner): to
ask Damon to kill Bon Bon. He
obliges, even though it will get in the
way of his reading. Meanwhile, Enzo
tenses up and you can see panic start
to set it.
