Soldiers at a checkpoint along Emohua road at Degema axis in Rivers state yesterday arrested a hoodlum on a bike heading to Degema from Buguma through Obakri junction. An Okada rider who carried the hoodlum had stopped at the checkpoint to inform the soldiers about the strange calls his passenger had been making since he carried him. The soldiers immediately searched the hoodlum and found a bloody female pant and some bloody clothes in his bag. He couldn't explain the items found on him. He was handcuffed and taken away.
EFCC arrests former Abia state governorship candidate, Uche Ogah, for alleged forgery The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today arrested former Abia state governorship candidate, Uche Ogah, over allegations of forgery. Ogah who is the president of oil firm, Masters Energy Oil and Gas, is alleged to have conspired with some persons still at large to forge a Memorandum of Understanding between his company, Masters Energy Oil and Gas Limited and Mut-Hass Petroleum Limited sometime in March 2011. Ogah was arrested on the premises of a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Tinubu, Lagos Island where the case of forgery which was initially filed by the police was being heard. At today's hearing, the police asked the court for a withdrawal of the case against the accused persons since the matter was still under investigation by the Special Fraud Unit and has to be well investigated before he is summoned to court.
