"Game of Thrones" makers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will compose and deliver another arrangement of "Star Wars" films, Disney reported on Tuesday.

The new arrangement will be separate from the fundamental long winded Skywalker adventure that began with "Star Wars: A New Hope" and is slated to wrap up with 2019's "Star Wars: Episode IX." It will likewise exist freely from a Rian Johnson-helmed arrangement that was reported a year ago.

"David and Dan are a portion of the best storytellers working today," said Kathleen Kennedy, leader of Lucasfilm, in an announcement. "Their charge of complex characters, profundity of story and lavishness of folklore will break new ground and strikingly push Star Wars in ways I find amazingly energizing."

It additionally comes during an era of change for Benioff and Weiss. "Game of Thrones," their sprawling dream epic, will end its keep running on HBO in 2019. Benioff and Weiss already reported that they were building up another arrangement for HBO called "Confederate." However, that show produced a lot of discussion over its plotline — it's an other history arrangement that envisions that the American Civil war finished in a stalemate and servitude stays lawful — which some considered coldhearted. HBO declined to remark on the eventual fate of that arrangement.

"In the late spring of 1977 we headed out to a universe far, far away, and we've been longing for it from that point forward," Benioff and Weiss said in a joint articulation. "We are respected by the open door, somewhat startled by the duty, thus eager to begin when the last period of 'Game of Thrones' is finished."

In 2012, Disney obtained Lucasfilm, the organization behind the "Star Wars" arrangement, for more than $4 billion. Since that time, the studio has been investigating novel approaches to broaden a cosmic system far, far away past the Skywalker family's battles and to expand their speculation. Notwithstanding another set of three that joins commonplace characters, for example, Luke Skywalker with new Jedi warriors, the studio has upheld independent spinoff movies, for example, "Rebel One" and next summer's "Performance," a gander at the early years of Han Solo.

Disney did not give a course of events for when these new Benioff and Weiss-penned movies will hit theaters. On an income call, Disney CEO Bob Iger said that the two men had moved toward the studio with a thought a while prior. Despite the fact that the twosome made their name in TV, Iger said they were not intrigued by accomplishing something on the little screen.

"Their advantage was in making a progression of movies that are 'Star Wars' based," said Iger. "As far as anyone is concerned they didn't express enthusiasm about an arrangement."

Iger was mum on any plot subtle elements but to state that the scholars and makers are "… centered around a state of time in the 'Star Wars' folklore."

Benioff and Weiss are repped by CAA, Management 360, and lawyer Gretchen Rush.
