Chelsea have
confirmed they have reached an agreement for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata
“Chelsea Football Club and Real Madrid have agreed terms for
the transfer of Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge,” the statement read.
“The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and
passing a medical.
“Morata, 24, is a Spanish international forward, and helped
Real to lift a second successive Champions League last season.”
Alvaro Morata has
skipped Real Madrid training and is expected in London to complete a medical
with Chelsea soon.
Sky Sports Italia claim the Blues have matched Real Madrid’s
£70m asking price and he will arrive in the capital tomorrow morning.
He was due to travel to China with Real but is now expected
to undergo a medical with Chelsea before penning a five-year contract.
Jurgen Klopp has dodged questions on Naby Keita following
Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in Hong Kong.
The RB Leipzig winger is understood to be the Reds’ No 1
transfer target but a deal is proving difficult to get over the line.
And Klopp was giving nothing away following the game with
Palace and when quizzed about the midfielder, he said: “Aye, aye, aye.”
He then walked off. Interesting…
Bookies have suspended betting on Alvaro Morata joining
Chelsea.
Antonio Conte is a huge fan of the Real Madrid striker, 24,
and had been pursuing him since missing out on Romelu Lukaku.
The odds have come in dramatically throughout the week and now Ladbrokes has pulled the plug on the market as they expect a deal will now be done.
Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati said: "Conte may have missed out on Lukaku, but he's clearly keen to bring in an alternative with Diego Costa set for an exit.
“And the latest news from our trading floor suggests Morata will be spearheading Chelsea's attack in the near future."
